Large Trees for backyards, side yards and beyond.

Large Trees

Don't want to wait 10 years for your trees to mature - start by planting a larger tree to add value and enjoyment to your property immediately. Whether you grow a stunning privacy screen like the Thuja Green or Leyland Cypress or plant a Weeping Willow for summer shade, you'll have dazzling good looks and ease.

How to Plant Large Trees

Though specific directions will depend on your variety, knowing your growing zone is an important first step. After you’ve determined your growing zone, keep sunlight and watering needs in mind for your Large Trees. Most prefer full sun to partial sun (anywhere from 4 to 8 hours of sunlight per day) and well-drained soil, but this will vary depending on the Large Trees you've purchased.

Your fertilizing and pruning needs will vary as well, but many of them do not require pruning.

From there, the actual planting process for your Large Trees is easy. Select an area with well-drained soil, dig a hole large enough to accommodate the tree’s root ball (along with a bit of extra width for mature growth), place your tree and backfill the hole. Finish by watering the surrounding soil and mulching to conserve moisture in the area.

When and Where to Plant Large Trees

As far as when to plant, we always recommend early spring or fall, before or after the threat of frost has passed. As long as the ground is not frozen, however, your Large Trees should be fine.

Also, keep in mind the mature height and width of your Large Trees, and plant them away from sidewalks, power lines, and structures.
