Why Snake Plants?
Looking for a trendy house plant, without the work? The Snake Plant is the perfect choice.
The Snake Plant is effortless to grow. Extremely popular in interior design, it requires little water, thrives on neglect, and will stand strong in rooms with low light. Often considered a bullet-proof plant for any level of plant expertise, this hard-to-kill evergreen will make a bold statement with its exotic, lush look.
Its upright leaves are long and bladelike, reaching up to 2 to 4 feet. The Snake Plant features unique foliage depending on the variety, all with vibrant green hues and variegated patterns.
The Black Gold Snake Plant features deep green, nearly black leaves outlined with bright gold, creating a dramatic contrast of color. Its high contrast and upright structure make it a longtime interior design favorite.
The Snake Plant Laurentii has a lighter green leaf color, with more distinct variegation. Pale, silver-green is layered with flecks of deeper green throughout. However, it shows off the same bright gold outline as the Black Gold Snake Plant.
The Snake Plant Zeylanica features stately, silver-green leaves with even horizontal stripes of darker green. Stylish and adaptable, it can fit easily into any interior design style.
No matter which Snake Plant you choose, you’ll find the classic characteristics of drought and shade tolerance and easy, low-maintenance growth. They’re a great way to add life to any space, for gardeners and plant enthusiasts of all levels of expertise.
Plus, in a Clean Air Study completed by NASA, the Snake Plant was rated one of the top plants for improving air-quality. It’s also one of the only plants known to produce oxygen all through the night. Place it in a bedroom and rest easy with this easygoing evergreen.

Planting & Care
1. Planting: Ensure you select a location with bright, indirect light - placing your Snake Plant in front of a sunny window is ideal, although Snake Plants can tolerate lower-light conditions.
The Snake Plant can go years without requiring repotting - in fact, it often thrives when root-bound. But if you're re-planting, choose a pot that is twice as large as your Snake Plant’s root ball. Pick a pot that has drainage holes as well. When you're ready to plant, place three inches of general-purpose potting soil into the bottom of the pot, set the plant’s root ball on top of the soil and add potting soil around the plant’s roots. Gently press the soil down around the plant’s roots to remove all air pockets. Water the newly potted plant thoroughly after planting.
2. Watering: After planting, keep the soil slightly damp around your Snake Plant’s roots, but be careful not to oversaturate. During the dry season, water the plant at least once per week. Once established, Snake Plants can survive even an extended drought.
Generally, you should allow the soil in the pot to dry out between waterings.
3. Fertilizing: Use a half-diluted, general all-purpose fertilizer for house plants. Fertilize once every three weeks throughout the summer.
