Where Should I Plant My Hydrangea Tree?

Specific planting directions will depend on the tree you choose, but most trees like full to partial sun (4 to 6 hours of sun per day) and well-drained soil. And of course, it's important to ensure that you’re in the correct growing zone.

When you're ready to plant your Hydrangea Tree, dig a hole large enough to accommodate your Hydrangea's root ball (with some room to grow), place your shrub and backfill the soil. Finally, water the surrounding soil of your tree to settle the roots and mulch around the area to conserve moisture and prevent weeds.

When to Trim Hydrangea Trees

Before the final finishing touches, establish a solid watering schedule. Generally, we recommend watering your Hydrangea Tree about once or twice weekly for the best results. If you’re not sure when to water your tree, however, simply check your surrounding soil about 2 or 3 inches down.

To prune, simply remove dead or damaged areas and trim for shaping after blooms have faded.
