Fingers crossed- limelight.
So far so ok. Our tree arrived looking nearly dead. After planting it seems to be picking up and growing leaves.I am very hopeful as I love these trees and have had great success in the past.Fingers crossed.
Love love love
Absolutely gorgeous. I didn't expect much from this tree this year because i purchased in August but there are tons of blooms!!!!!!
Looked okay when received but didn't make it
They did not work well at all for me. I bought two and one died so bought another and it and the other living one didn't make it either. Maybe it was too hot here (sw Kansas) whereas I planted them in July/first of August. No idea what went wrong but was really looking forward to them next year.
Can't wait for next years blooms
I've always admired these mature trees when in bloom. Mine arrived in okay shape and bloomed within 2 weeks after being planted. Had to spray them to protect against Japanese Beetles that seems to like this plant.
I love the tree. it came out an starting growing more in a few days. Great service . The first one was lost by the delivery service and FGT promptly replaced it with no questions asked
Planting & Care
The Limelight Hydrangea Tree (Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight') is a beautiful blooming dwarf tree that delivers a stunning array of colors such as green, pink and blue that give way to white blooms as the season progresses. It’s great for more compact areas that are in need of some extra color and/or beauty as it only matures to a height of 6-8 feet tall and 4-5 feet wide. This partial sun loving, moderate grower is also drought tolerant as well as pest resistant making it fairly low maintenance to care for. The Limelight Hydrangea tree is most commonly planted in USDA growing zones 3-8 and is sure to provide the best accent to any spot on your landscape.
Choosing a location: Drainage is always essential so be sure wherever you intend to plant the tree isn’t going to have any standing water for any period of time. Filtered shade with 4-6 hours of sun is ideal for the best performance as far as sun exposure goes.
1) Dig the hole twice the size and just as deep as the root ball.
2) Loosen the soil in and around the hole so the roots can easily break through.
3) Use your fingers to separate the roots and gently position downward in the hole. The top of the root flare (where the roots end and the trunk begins) should be about and inch above the surrounding soil.
4) Hold the tree straight as you begin to back fill, tamping down the soil as you go.
5) Apply water to settle the soil and remove the air pockets then mulch to retain soil moisture.
Watering: Provide a good soaking of the soil 2-3 times each week. The typical recommended water amount for each week is about
