Double the Petals on Double the Roses

Why Double Pink Knock Out® Roses?

Offering all the benefits of the Knock Out® series in a new, rich pink color, the Double Pink Knock Out® Rose boasts a huge blanket of pink blooms…from spring all the way until the first frost.

Plus, it’s highly resistant to pests, diseases and temperature extremes, making it easy to grow. In fact, the Double Knock Out® is virtually maintenance-free, especially since it grows thickly without pruning or deadheading. And it thrives in containers or in the ground, requiring far less sunlight than traditional roses.

Whether you plant it in a pot on your porch, as a foundation shrub or in border plantings, you’ll be greeted by a blanket of pink roses for up to nine months.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Choose a well-drained planting site in full to partial sun (3 to 6 hours of direct morning sunlight with afternoon shade).

Start by digging a hole twice as wide and twice as deep as the root ball. Backfill the soil until you have a hole the same size or slightly larger than the container the rose is in. Plant the rose at the same depth as it is in the container. Mulch the planting site to retain soil moisture.

To container plant, choose a pot that’s about twice the size of your plant’s shipped container and ensure it has drainage holes. Then, use organic soil mix and place your shrub in its pot. Select a sunny area on your porch or patio for your container-planted Knock Out®.

2. Watering: Water around the roots rather than overhead (or showering). Generally, this means watering about once or twice weekly, or more often in dry conditions.

If you’re not sure when to water, check the soil about 3 inches down for dryness.

3. Fertilizing: Feed with a rose fertilizer once a month.

4. Pruning: Prune every spring, all the way back to 12 inches off the ground, after it is established (wait a few seasons to prune). When you do prune, sterilize your sharp pruning shears with rubbing alcohol. This guarantees a cleaner, healthier cut.
