Not In My Area
You don't have to display this to the public. But since you asked.... All three plants were tenderly cared for and quickly died. My landscaper said that our winters might be zone 8 but our summers are zone 9 in Charleston SC and rhododendrons do not do well here. He cautioned me not to get them. He was right. They cannot take the heat and/or our frequent rain. Such a shame as I so wanted those purple flowers.
hardy and fast growing
I ordered 5 of these and they have been in the ground for a month now. A second batch of leaves already sprouted and are now thick and green. They are all growing really well. We are at 8 500' up in the Rockies of Colorado
Amazing how fast it died
Received a beautiful plant... Carefully put it into the ground per your instructions prepared soil and added your fertilizer -- and within 2 weeks it shriveled and turned brown and then died!!! It was placed in partial shade/sun area and watered as instructed. Not happy about this... Not mad just very sad. Live in Dallas TX area.
I ordered and received two plants in May. One plant was severely damaged during shipping but one call to Fast-Growing Trees and the plant was replaced immediately with no hassle. The replacement arrived the first of June and now I have two very healthy Rhododendron growing either side of my porch. I have to say I was a bit skeptical about purchasing such large plants mail order but my experience with Fast-Growing Trees has been outstanding. Now its my job to keep them growing so I can have blooms next spring. Thank you
Lavender rhododendron blooming well
My 1st plant is blooming very well after just a month in my garden. My 2nd plant is growing well and expected to bloom in a few weeks. Very satisfied with the plants. Thanks.
Planting & Care
Lavender Rhododendrons prefer acidic soil, but will adapt to your soil even if it's sandy or heavy in clay as long as it's well draining. Give your Lavender Rhododendron a deep watering once your soil feels dry to the touch down about two inches.
You'll know that spring has arrived when beautiful purple flowers emerge on your Lavender Rhododendron. After your flowers have bloomed fertilize your Lavender Rhododendron with an acidic fertilizer for an acid loving shrub.
