Product Description

Instant Carpet of Year-Round Color

Why Color Splash Sedum Tiles®?

  • You get an instant carpet of color with evergreen hues year-round.
  • It's the most durable perennial on the market.
  • You get up to 250 plants in each tile.

Now you can have instant color in your garden! The hard work is done for you, from choosing plants that go together well, to getting them growing and ready for you to plant.

Each 10 x 20-inch tile is made of environmentally friendly coconut fiber, embedded with potting soil and has up to 250 plants already growing in it, ready to place where you want it to grow! You can cut the tile in pieces and spread them about on your prepared soil to cover a surprisingly large area. They will gently spread to fill in and by midsummer to the end of the season, you should have a beautiful carpet of color!

Varieties represented in the mix include Angelina, Blue Spruce, Fuldaglut, Dragons Blood, Acre, and others. These varieties create a range of colors, from green and yellow to red and blue, changing color with the season.

Why is Better

These varieties are specially chosen by experts for harmonious colors and contrasting forms. This mix was selected by experts to be colorful and go well together in almost any location in the U.S. And since they naturally grow to only 6 inches tall, these plants will stay low and neat with no trimming from you, though they will spread and fill the space around them handily.

Evergreen varieties were included to keep things interesting year-round, and all had to be easy to grow to make it into this special mix!

Sedum Tile

I am super excited to see how the Sedum Tile grows. I ordered 60 tiles so in order to complete my order I was shipped more mature tiles as well as immature tiles. Giving them a couple of months and knowing we have had extreme rain to extreme heat and dryness it has been interesting to watch them get "settled in". The more mature tiles are doing well overall. The immature ones not so well. Some look like door mats dry and little growth. I would recommend only receiving more mature tiles. The company has been great to work with and very helpful. One word of caution: The boxes housing the tiles for shipment to your place were FULL of ants. I even gave the FedEx driver a broom to sweep out his truck since he now had ants in his truck. This did prompt him to make my place his first stop! Anxious to see how the plants mature.

Very durable and drought tolerant. I would recommend this plant to anyone looking for ground cover and in between rocks.

This was perfect and came healthy with the dirt still moist. I planted in between rock wall. They are doing great. I'm looking forward to it spreading out and filling in the bare spots. It's taking off good. Love it.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Place snippets between flagstones, or cut into 20 three-inch squares to line a dry, hot path. Try it in a container, either by itself or around a taller plant.

In a container, simply cut a piece of the tile and lay it on top of your potting medium, water in, and watch it grow. In the garden, till the soil in the area you want to plant, wet it and place the tile mat on top, pressing down to make sure it is in contact with the ground. Water after planting. One 10" x 20" tile has about 250 plants and will cover about 4 to 5 square feet of space. In a pot, you need to cover only half the soil surface with a cutout of your tile - it will fill in and even grow over the sides in a few months.

2. Watering: Water your Sedum Tile after planting. Natural rainfall will take care of the rest.
