Discover the Charm of the Jujube

Take a look at these amazing benefits all in one tree:

  • Gorgeous tree with incredible fall color
  • Strong and resilient, withstands hot summers, pests and diseases

  • Sweet, delicious fruit, high in vitamin C

Ancient Chinese Secret Revealed: The Jujube is Magnificent

For more than 40 centuries, the Jujube has withstood the test of time in gardens throughout the Orient. Now, this incredible tree from China with its magnificent gray bark is catching on throughout the west-and with good reason. The Jujube's long branches are covered in delicate leaves that shine a glossy green. In the fall, they turn a brilliant, jasmine yellow that makes it a coveted landscape specimen.

As winter's grip sheds the Jujube of its leaves, the unique bark and weeping branches give it an ancient character that few trees possess. The dynamic visual changes of the Jujube will delight you throughout each season.

The Strong Tree with a Rewarding Fruit

The Jujube is not only beautiful, it' impervious to the harsh elements that many trees can't endure. There's a reason it's survived for thousands of years. Able to flourish in subzero temperatures or scorching summer heat-even drought is no match for the adaptable Jujube. The payoff is during harvest season when the Jujube yields the heavenly fruit for which it takes its name.

Sometimes called Chinese Dates, the crimson-brown fruit hangs in clusters, bringing out more rich color to complement the leaves. Not only are Jujubes visually appealing, beneath the crisp skin its red flesh is full of sweet, tart, apple-like flavor. Used throughout history for their medicinal properties, Jujubes are packed with vitamin C. Eat them fresh, add them to salads, dry them-even put Jujube in your teas for extra flavor.

However you enjoy them, don't wait another season. Bring the old world charm and sweet taste of Jujube home today.

Great experience with the vendor
Two trees are so far so good. Hopefully, they could grow well and survive in the zone 6 in consideration of the likely -30 weather sometimes at the winter.

Growing the 2nd year
I bought only one jujube tree from Fastgrowingtrees.com and I regret not buying more now! The first year the tree was small (only 2 ft tall) and didn't show much growth at all. I had another jujube tree from another online nursery and it was much taller (and cost a lot more for sure), but it arrived with very few leaves and died after a heavy rainstorm. Anyway, this one survived not only the storm but also the cold winter. In its second year, it has grown twice as big and is showing beautiful foliage. I will definitely buy again from Fastgrowingtree. You just need a bit more patience with jujube, its leaves came out late in the spring, it seems to like the heat and requires very little watering.

Happy Beautiful Trees!
Beautiful little trees :). I have both of them in pots next to each other and they are thriving! I fertilize them weekly with kelp fertilizer and they have tons of new growth. I also use some garden tone fertilizer once per month. I live in Texas and the summer sun is brutal, so I have them somewhere that they get afternoon shade. It’s the perfect amount of sun for them. I was just rewarded with the beginnings of my first jujubees! And I’ve only had them for a few months. I would stronly recommend getting a set of these trees. They are a lot of fun to watch grow up!

Planting & Care

It's Easy to Plant & Care for Your Jujube Tree

Step 1: Dig Your Hole

Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your Jujube Tree.

First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width.

Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through.

Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.

Planting & Care

Step 2: Place Your Plant

Next, separate the roots of your Jujube Tree gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole.

The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil.

Then make sure the plant is exactly vertical in the hole.

To make it just right, use a level.

Step 3: Backfill Your Hole

As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets.

Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps.

Water your Jujube Tree again after the transplant is complete.

does the lang jujube need a pollinator to bear fruit? THANKS!
Ray V. on Oct 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We bought two. We already have two mature trees. Both new trees we bought have fruit already. We also raise honeybees so I don't know if this had an effect or not so I am not sure on the pollinator thing.
