The Perfect, Peaceful and Durable Compliment to Your Landscape

The Arctic Blue Willow has all the best qualities of a Willow. Willows are known for their peaceful, wispy, unique aesthetic and the Arctic Blue is no exception. Growing to a height of 10 ft., this tree has the airy qualities of a willow in a height that you can easily manage.

Gorgeous colors make this tree standout in your landscape. The spring and summer deliver deep blue-green leaves with a silver underside. Like mermaid hair, the sun will light up the blue leaves and as the wind blows, the silvery underside will shine. You'll be captivated by the colors in the summertime.

Even the bark is beautiful. From the fall to early spring, the bark shows off its unique red and purple colors. The branches are always flexible, so no matter what time of year it is, you'll get to experience the peaceful feeling of watching the wind blow through the Arctic Blue Willow.

This is the perfect tree for pesky yards that refuse to grow anything. The Arctic Blue Willow will grow and flourish in nearly every soil type. The ph of your soil is irrelevant to the Arctic Blue; it can survive in highly acidic or highly alkaline soils. Have a soggy yard or an arid landscape? That's no problem. This tree can thrive in the worst yards where nothing else will grow.

Create a privacy hedge with multiple trees. The curved and full shape of the Arctic Blue is perfect for creating a privacy hedge. Planting multiple trees next to each other will create a strong, but inviting visible barrier. You'll get privacy without intimidating your landscape.

Add visual interest by planting near warm or rigid plants. Planting the Arctic Blue amongst red and orange flowers or near tall, stiff plants can add interesting variety to your yard. The wispy, blue leaves are the perfect complement to any plant that is warm or rigid. You'll add balance and interest to your garden by choosing the Arctic Blue Willow.

Create vibrant colors by starting over every year. The Arctic Blue Willow responds well to coppicing. In late winter, you can cut your Arctic Blue down to 4"-2' above the ground. This tree grows so quickly that in the spring you'll see vibrant branches emerge in reds, oranges and yellows.

This is truly a practical plant. Beyond creating visual interest or creating a privacy hedge, the Arctic Blue Willow has tons of uses. Planting this tree on an embankment can help with erosion control. You can even use the branches you cut to weave baskets. In fact, this tree is sometimes known as the Basket Willow for that very reason. The uses are really endless with this versatile tree.

There are so many uses, you have to ask yourself why you don't already have one. You will love how versatile and durable the Arctic Blue Willow is. Whether you want to use it as a compliment to a thriving garden or as a tree where nothing else will grow, you'll be happy with your Arctic Blue for a long time, so don't hesitate to purchase a few today.

The bushes are growing well. New growth is coming from the ground. I am looking forward to the hedge when it is fully developed.

Great privacy
We picked the Artic Blue Willow by seeing how big and full our neighbors shrub was. We took a branch of it toelp identify it. Look forward to what it offers as it grows!

Artic blue willow
The willow arrived sickly looking and remains so. The plants I bought from my local home improvement center look better and are doing better. Sorry

Planting & Care

It's Easy to Plant & Care for Your Arctic Blue Willow

Arctic Blue Willow Planting Diretions

Planting Instructions: The Arctic Blue Willow is easy to plant in your yard. Because of its tolerance to soil conditions, you can plant this tree anywhere you like. For erosion control, plant it on an embankment. To naturalize a space in your yard, plant it along a border. The Arctic Blue's root system is extremely deep and wide and very thirsy. For that reason, avoid planting this tree too close to the other plants in your yard. Leave at least 4'-6' of space between other plants. Plant in full sun or partial shade. The only condition this tree cannot handle is the combination of heat and humidity found in the south.

Watering: This tree can tolerate wet or dry conditions. Be sure to water the tree weekly in its young life to ensure proper growth. If you live in a particularly dry area, you may need to water weekly throughout its life.

Fertilization: Plant with a general fertilizer. You can fertilize once a year, but it is not necessary. This is a very fast growing plant.

Pruning: To maintain a tree shape, cut the bottom branches off in the winter. Don't prune the top of the tree or it will lose its natural shape. At the end of each winter, you can cut the tree down to the ground (4"-2'). This will ensure your tree is vibrant, beautiful and healthy every year.

Pests: You may see pests or leaf spot disease on your Arctic Blue Willow. However, the Arctic Blue is resistant to most common willow diseases. If you do see diseases or pests, simply prune the tree down to the ground in late winter.
