Sunlight
Plant your Windmill Palm in an area that receives full-partial sun (4-6 hours of direct sunlight per day).

Watering
Water your Palm 2-3 times per week for the first month, then once a week for the remainder of the first year after planting. Keep the soil moist but well-drained, watering more in times of drought and less when there is rainfall.

Fertilizing
If necessary, apply a slow-release, palm specific fertilizer (granule form or spikes) in the spring, summer and fall.
The Best Cold Hardy Palm
Why Windmill Palm Trees?
Thanks to this fresh variety, the Palm isn't relegated to only tropical locales. Because the Windmill Palm is one of the most cold hardy palms available on the market today, it's a dream come true for those who want island-inspired good looks in colder climates.
Northern gardening climates, even in growing zone 7, are still able to grow this stunning island beauty. And not only is Windmill Palm cold tolerant, but it's also unbelievably low-maintenance and naturally pest resistant, too.
Plus, it's got the good looks to match its effortless ease. Magnificent in stature, the Windmill Palm has fresh, fan-like fronds that are arranged symmetrically in a bunched group. This forms a crown of stunning green foliage that grows atop the trunk and can grow 6 to 10 feet wide.
What is a Jumbo Windmill Palm Tree?
Jumbo trees are the most mature plants offered at Fast Growing Trees. Thanks to their well-developed root systems and large container size of 10-15 gallons, they deliver superior drought resistance, enhanced mineral absorption, and fuller growth. They're the perfect choice for an instant tropical feel and a more established look in your landscape.
Grown in limited quantities, Jumbos are a premium option for those looking to make an immediate impact in their yard.

Windmill Palm
They're a great tree to have in this area in Virginia and two others that I got the rest of them from you and they're doing great
Bought 4 on sale. After
Bought 4 on sale. After a few months things seem fine. No complaints except for the method of shipment. It seems suspect although all items I've received via FedEx like this have survived and seem to be ok. It is just strange. Plants arrive in a horizontal position with plastic bag zip-tied around stem to try to hold dirt against root ball. Doesn't really contain the dirt very well, and roots become exposed. Shippers are probably not as kind to the plants as they should be, nor do they obey the words on the boxes that say to keep in such and such a position. In my mind plants would have arrived vertically. Anyway, no complaints, everything seems professional.
Going strong 3 years later
We’re in Birmingham AL, and we bought two Windmill Palms from FGT 3 years ago. One of them struggled after snow hit them the first winter and he died away. But the other one is still going strong, growing about a foot each summer now. We regularly around the trunk to break up the clay soil and water him a few times a week. We’ve never covered him and it’s been as cold as 12 degrees overnight here. The longest stint below 25 degrees has been maybe 3-4 days. A pure joy to have a tropical plant this far north.
This is very beautiful palm
I love it and it looks good in my yard
Not able to say how
Not able to say how they will do over winter. Lost one within first three weeks … same soil, sun and water it was replaced after proof of death.
