Planting & Care
The Princeton Elm is easy to plant in your yard. Because of its tolerance to soil conditions, you can plant this tree anywhere you like. Plant in full sun or partial shade where it will receive at least 4 hours of sun each day. Adding mulch to the base of your tree will help keep the moisture in and prevent weeds and grass competition. You don't need to add anything to your soil when planting.
Watering: This tree can tolerate wet or dry conditions. Be sure to water the tree weekly in its young life to ensure proper growth. If it rains, you don't need to water your Princeton Elm at all. After a couple years, you only need to water the tree during very dry spells.
Pruning: You don't need to prune the Princeton Elm, but it can be helpful to remove dead bark and branches in the fall.

Love my elm
Bought & planted 6-7ft tree 1yr ago, and it's exactly 12ft now, im in zone 9a. Its a very hardy plant, took a beating during hurricane season but it bounced back nicely with some TLC.

Princeton Elm Success!
We live just outside New Haven, Ct which is called “the Elm City. But all the elms disappeared with Elm Disease. When I noticed Princeton Elms being planted at our golf club I asked and was told this new species is disease resistant. i So I tried FastGrowingTrees, trying to avoid a retail purchase and mark up. I have been totally satisfied with the delivery and the ease of planting. And BTW, I’m 84 years old.
Excited for My Elm to Grow into Shade Tree
Love this Elm tree that arrived with healthy leaves already on it. It has only flourished since getting here. More leaves have grown after only a week or so. I have to make a fence around it because I think the deer are already helping themselves to the lower branches. But it is doing very well for itself, despite being in a very windy area. Did not come with a bamboo stake to stabilize it like my other tree, so I will get one of those to give it the best start. Winds are pretty vicious through this little valley at times. This elm is planted strategically to give some shade in a much-needed area of the property and should be a beautiful addition to the property over time.
