Resilient, Cold-Hardy, Classic Elm

Why Prairie Expedition® Elm Trees

The Prairie Expedition ® Elm Tree, also known as the Lewis and Clark Elm, is an excellent, cold-hardy tree! Its resistance to Dutch Elm Disease makes it a sturdy and tough choice for planting.

Developed from a parent American Elm that was the lone survivor of Dutch Elm, this tree is guaranteed to be long-lasting and enjoyed for years to come. Plus, it’s also tolerant of most soil types, making this a relatively easy tree to care for.

With its classic cathedral, umbrella form, the lovely shape of this tree will transform any space! You can even spot some small, green flowers amongst the green leaves in spring. In fall, the leaves change to a stunning yellow.

If you’re hoping to add some greenery to a park, boulevard, or other open space where larger trees are desired, the Prairie Expedition® Elm is very tolerant of urban pollution! Plus, this tree is adaptable to most weather, including dry conditions and even some standing water. With proper care, it can live to be 100 years or older!

If you’re eager to add a resilient shade tree to your space, order the Prairie Expedition® Elm Tree today!

    Great Elm

The elm arrived in great condition and I was very impressed with the way it was packed and delivered. I had some trouble keeping the root ball together after de-potting it but still got it in the ground OK. It's been about 2 weeks and it seems to be doing all right!

    I love this place!

The trees came when they said they would. They were in great shape and here's what they look like in their first spring in their new home!

    SO happy!

I didn’t buy just one Prairie Expedition Elm Tree… I bought 3 and I’m super excited and happy! With my past experience buying trees from FastGrowingTrees, I have no doubt my trees will quickly become large and luscious. Planting trees in the Fall is always a bit sad… the trees arrive in wonderful condition (excellent packaging!!) and they look good going into their “home” - but then they lose their leaves as they settle in for the winter. I can’t wait to watch them rocket up in the Spring! I’ll post pictures next year!

Fast Growing Trees Plant ExpertWe're so sorry to hear this! It sounds like shipping stress and also got too hot in transit. You should begin to see new growth in the next couple of weeks but if not, please let us know and we'll make it right!
