Why Peacock Hydrangeas?
Timeless blue-purple blooms meet contrasting black stems Peacock Hydrangea Shrub. Plus, its large blooms that remerge when many other flowering varieties are fading mean months of color with your Peacock Hydrangea.
Even better? It flowers on new and old wood. That means no pruning and clipping since the Peacock Hydrangea is gorgeous without hassle. From containers on your balcony or porch to borders in your plant beds, your Peacock Hydrangea makes a colorful, eye-catching impression. And since it's disease-resistant, fast-growing, and tolerant of tough conditions, there's virtually no upkeep required for your Peacock Hydrangea.
Whether you live in a climate with -10-degree temperatures or reside in the desert and miss a few waterings, your Peacock Hydrangea continues to impress. Planting & Care
1. Planting: Select an area with full sun (6 to 8 hours of sunlight daily) and well-drained soil.
Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the rootball of your Peacock Hydrangea, place your shrub, backfill, and water to settle the roots.
If you're planting in a container, select a pot that's twice as large as your shipped container and make sure it has drainage holes. Place your Peacock Hydrangea, use organic soil mix, and find a sunny area on your porch or patio for your plant.
2. Watering: Water your Hydrangea once or twice weekly. But if you're not sure when to water, check your soil about 3 inches down - if the soil is dry here, it's time to water.
3. Fertilizing: If you do need to feed it, use a well-balanced fertilizer, like 10-10-10, in the spring before new growth begins on your Peacock.
4. Pruning: It's not required, but your Peacock can be pruned or trimmed for shaping in its dormant season, during the winter season.
