A Pop of Tropical Color
Why Mandarin Plants?
Add a remarkable house plant to your space with the Mandarin Plant. A member of the Spider Plant family, the Mandarin Plant features tropical, glossy green leaves with glowing orange stems, offering a pop of bright color and a stunning contrast.
A native of the subtropical climates of South and West Africa, the Mandarin Plant makes an excellent indoor accent, standing out against deeper-green house plants. In warmer climates, it can be planted outdoors - growing up to 2 feet tall, it's a great addition to garden beds or borders.
This tropical grower likes bright, indirect light and can tolerate partial shade - place it on a sunny windowsill or tabletop for a unique, tropical look.
With easy care requirements, the Mandarin Plant is lower-maintenance than other tropical house-plants - it's a great choice for both expert gardeners and beginners. However, it is toxic if ingested, so keep it out of reach of pets and children.

Planting & Care
1. Planting: Your Mandarin Plant will grow best in bright, indirect light, and can tolerate some shade. The best place for your plant is near an east-facing window that is free from drafts. Keep it away from bright, direct light, which can burn its leaves.
You won't need to repot your Mandarin Plant originally - it will be happy in it's shipped container. When your plant's roots are starting to grow out the bottom of the pot or above the soil on top, it's time to repot. Choose a pot 1-2 sizes larger than the original container, with good drainage, and plant with organic potting soil.
2. Watering: Your Mandarin Plant prefers consistently moist - but not soggy - soil. You can use your finger to test the moisture level. If the soil feels dry, add water. It's good practice to test the moisture level every week during the plant's young life.
FGT Tip: Occasionally, your Mandarin Plant's leaves may become brown at the tip. If this happens, switch to distilled water. The fluoride in tap water can increase the salt intake, causing the tips of the leaves to turn brown. However, this is not dangerous for the plant, and you can simply prune off the brown tips.
3. Fertilizing: You can add a general house plant fertilizer to your Mandarin Plant every three months, but it is not necessary.
FGT Tip: Mandarin Plant leaves do collect dust, so be sure to keep your tree healthy by wiping down the leaves as needed with a dust cloth.
Estimated Shipping Time: Most orders ship immediately. As noted on the website, some items are seasonal, and may only ship in spring or fall. Once your order is shipped, you'll receive an email with a tracking number.
