A Stunning And Adaptable Tree Your Family Will Have For Generations
The most remarkable feature is the fiery red leaves in autumn. Without a doubt, you'll love your Green Gable Black Gum's vibrant scarlet red leaves that appear in autumn. This tree is famous for its stunning fall colors. Placing a Green Gable in your yard will heighten the nostalgic, fresh and comforting feelings of autumn.
The fall isn't the only time this tree turns heads. In the summer and spring, the Green Gable Black Gum produces extraordinary dark green leaves. The leaves are very glossy and are mesmerizing when they reflect the sunlight.
You won't be the only one mesmerized by the tree. Wildlife adore the Green Gable Black Gum. In fact, this tree is sometimes known as Tupelo. It's the tree where bees begin the process of making their prized Tupelo honey.
The Green Gable Black Gum is stunning, even in the winter. Many black gums don't look spectacular in the winter. The Green Gable is definitely an exception. The tree grows in a uniform, pyramid shape that looks incredible as a winter silhouette.
Your family will enjoy this tree for generations to come. Many Green Gable Black Gums live up to 250 years. Imagine the centuries of memories your family can make playing under the shade of this remarkable tree.
Enjoy the Green Gable, no matter where you live. The Green Gable Black Gum is tolerant of nearly every condition. From the dry, high altitude land of cold mountains to the deep, humid and hot swamps of the deep south, the Green Gable thrives. You don't have to worry about this tree being fragile. It will stand proud and strong in your landscape.
This tree is as low maintenance as you can get. The Green Gable takes hardly any work at all. Plant it on the low spot in your yard where nothing else seems to thrive or plant it anywhere and then just watch it grow. Unlike other Black Gum trees, the Green Gable is actually resistant to the harmless, but ugly, leaf spot disease. Your family will enjoy the shade, comfort and beauty of this tree without having to worry about the hassle of high-maintenance.
There's no reason not to get this tree. It will add stunning aesthetic value to your landscape, no matter where you live. You'll never have to worry about it; you'll only enjoy it. Generations from now, your family will marvel at the beautiful tree you planted. You simply can't wait to begin your lifelong journey with this hardy, gorgeous tree.

Green Gable Black Gum Tree
We love our new Green Gable Black Gum tree. It is beautiful and it's only been planted for one month. We planted it middle of September 2018. We can't wait to see how it looks mect summer. Our neighbor has a full grown Green Gable and it's the most beautiful tree I've ever seen.
We had trouble locating this tree anywhere! It arrived promptly and in good condition! We planted it using the fertilizer and it has really taken off. Very pleased with this purchase!
My Green Gable Black Gum trees arrived in perfect shape. Well packed fully leafed out. Problem was that here in Wisconsin none of our trees had leafed out yet. To make matters worse we got down to 28 degrees the night they arrive. Brought them inside and babied them for a couple days. Once planted they never dropped a leaf. I will definitely buy from you again. Thanks.
Planting & Care
Planting Instructions: The most important thing to know about the Green Gable Black Gum is that is must be planted in acidic soil. If your soil's PH is high, add composted pine or oak leaves. The Green Gable will not thrive in soils that are too alkaline. Otherwise, the Green Gable is extremely resilient. It will need a lot of sunshine to develop a solid root system, so find a place in your yard that gets plenty of sun. You may need to stake up small, young trees if you live in a very windy area. If you want to deter wildlife, you can build a fence around the mature tree canopy (20' or so). The Green Gable loves moisture, but prefers well-drained soil. Your tree will thrive amongst other vegetation or by rivers, lakes and streams. You can add mulch around the base of the tree for better water retention, but avoid getting too close to the trunk.
Watering: During the first few weeks, water your tree twice a week for 45 minutes. After that you can stick to only watering during dry spells using the same method of deeply watering for 45 minutes or using drip irrigation for 90 minutes.
Fertilization: You don’t need to fertilize your tree, but as it matures, you may want to increase its growth and production. If you do, add a slow-release formula around the base of the tree. You'll need to extend 2 feet beyond the tree canopy to saturate the roots. The rule of thumb is to use 2 cups of fertilizer for every 1 inch of diameter of the trunk.
Pruning: You can prune your tree in the winter if you like. Removing the lower branches will make it easier to stand under the tree for shade in the summer.
Pests: There should not be any pests on your Green Gable. To ensure your tree stays healthy, rake up the fallen leaves in the autumn to prevent any infestations.
