Cold Hardy Growth and Cherries in the First Year

Why North Star Cherry Trees?

Introduced by the University of Minnesota in 1950, the dwarf North Star Cherry Tree is bred for abundant, fast production of delicious cherries and cold hardy adaptability. And the North Star is especially versatile because its plump, tart cherries are considered ideal for snacking directly from the tree, baking, and more.

Plus, its dwarf size means it’s well-suited to any space, small or large. This self-fertile tree is ultra-adaptable, so it’s a proven producer in all types of landscapes. And though it doesn’t need another cherry tree to fruit, more trees mean even bigger bounties.

Why Fast-Growing-Trees.com is Better

Aside from its cold hardiness, disease resistance and acclimation to any soil type, the North Star Cherry Tree is second to none because it’s selected by experts. It’s a proven performer, with consistent fruiting season after season, since it’s been planted, monitored and grown in advance at our nursery.

We’ve done the hard work so that you get a hassle-free and healthy tree. Imagine the promise of delectable cherries in just one year, with a summer harvest and home-grown fruit of your own. Order your own North Star Cherry Tree today!

Review after 3. 5 years of growth

I bought two cherry trees from FGT in fall 2021 (including a North Star cherry). We are now on our third spring and the trees are LADEN with fruit. Trucks are thick and strong, and they are super healthy and growing beautifully! I've installed 10 fruit trees in the past four years on my property and the ones from FTG are the only ones healthy and growing well. Yes, they are pricier but the quality is consistently great with this company. And their customer service is THE BEST I have ever encountered. Below are photos from planting, then spring 2022, 2023, and 2024 showing the improvement in the tree each year. All I did was plant, mulch, and water about once a week for year 1 and 2. Last year, all the tree got was regular rain, with maybe 2 or 3 intentional waterings throughout the summer.

Two cherry trees arrived in

Two cherry trees arrived in excellent condition. I planted the trees the day after arrival, and they are doing great. I bought a North Star Cherry tree from FGT several years ago, and it is thriving. This variety of cheery tastes good, and anything that we don’t pick, the birds love to eat the rest.

North star

I Ordered this tree last year about this time. The tree struggled to survive. It would occasionally put out a leaf or two and appear to me that it was struggling to survive. I contacted customer service to let them know about the weak condition, yet I couldn't claim a warranty for it was still alive. Winter came and went. As all my other cherry trees were budding, my North Star did nothing. I contacted customer service and another tree was promptly sent out. The problem was with the replacement. I could tell by looking at it that this one was DOA. After some pics and scratch test, I was sent a beautiful replacement. Thank you for the excellent customer service and fir honoring your alive and thrive guarantee.
