Popular Hedge for Complete Year-Round Privacy

Why Nellie Stevens Hollies?

The Nellie Stevens has soared in popularity. Why? Well, for starters, it's the ideal selection for both hedging and privacy screening, especially since it grows up to 3 feet each year.

Plus, it thrives on neglect. No green thumb is no problem since they grow in sun or partial shade. And you'll appreciate how these holly trees stay deep green year-round, unlike other hedge trees that can brown out during either the summer heat or mild droughts.

Plant each Nellie Stevens Holly 5 to 6 feet apart for a living wall that gives you complete privacy, no holes and no gaps. You control how they grow - whether that's naturally into a dense, pyramidal shape that matures at 15 to 25 feet in height, or pruned into a tall box hedge.

What is a Jumbo Nellie Stevens Holly Shrub?

Jumbo shrubs are the most mature shrubs offered at Fast Growing Trees. Thanks to their well-developed root systems and large container size, they provide excellent drought resistance and improved nutrient absorption. Jumbos are ideal for creating immediate privacy and adding fullness to your garden beds without the wait.

Grown in limited quantities, Jumbo shrubs are perfect for homeowners who want fast results and a lasting impression in their landscape.

And because they grow as much as 2 to 3 feet per year without pruning, they're truly one-of-a-kind. Furthermore, during the winter months, you'll enjoy the Nellie Stevens' red berries against its deep green foliage. Clip off a few branches to decorate your home for the holidays. Dazzling, graceful wildlife also emerges since those berries attract an array of birds.

But the best part? We plant, grow and nurture our Nellie Stevens for best results. That means you get effortless, amazing-growing benefits without hassle on your part. Once your Nellie is shipped to your door, it's ready to grow and adapt easily in your own landscape.

You won't find a better privacy screen at such a low price. These will sell out shortly, so hurry and grab a few Nellie Stevens of your own!

Robust holly

I ordered 16 of these and planted them early fall 2024 as a row hedge. Trees arrived quickly and in good condition. I live in southern Maryland. That winter we had a foot of snow on ground for over 2 weeks, which is unusual for the area. The trees are deer resistant, but with no other choice of food the deer stripped them clean. No leaves left. Come spring time I figured the trees were dead and not coming back. To my surprise all 16 bounced back and bounced back fast. By late April they were full of leaves and growing strong. Seems to be a pretty hearty tree. I am buying more to stagger behind the existing row for better privacy.

Fast Growing Trees Plant ExpertHello Phil! We love hearing stories like this—Nellie Stevens Hollies are tough, and yours really proved it! Even with snow cover and hungry deer, it's amazing that they bounced back so fast. Thanks for choosing to expand your hedge with us, and feel free to reach out if we can help with the next batch!

Great!

I'm a repeat buyer, this time I got the 3 gal and they were big, like 4 foot, very impressive. Well packed and shipped in just a few days. After a week planted, they look great. Better price than the local nursery too.
