Planting & Care
Next, dig your hole shallower than the root ball and at least twice its width, loosening the soil throughout so that the Dwarf Alberta Spruce’s roots can break through easily. Then, back fill the hole while applying water to remove any air pockets. Once completely transplanted, your Dwarf Alberta Spruce should be watered again.
For container planting, select a pot that’s about one and a half or two times the Alberta’s shipped container. Follow the planting directions below and place in an area with adequate sunlight.
2. Watering: Water regularly and deeply, weekly or more often in extreme heat, during the Spruce’s first full growing season – this will ensure that it establishes a thorough, extensive root system. The watering schedule will be the same for both container planting and ground planting. But if you’re not sure when to water, simply check the soil – if it’s dry at 2 inches down, it’s time to water.
3. Fertilizing: For faster, fuller growth, you may also fertilize your tree before new growth begins during spring.
4. Pruning: Because the Dwarf Alberta Spruce is slow-growing, it can often grow into its natural, columnar shape without pruning. However, if you’re looking for a neater, more precise silhouette, you should prune your tree lightly during winter.
Estimated Shipping Time: Most orders ship immediately. As noted on the website, some items are seasonal, and may only ship in spring or fall. Once your order is shipped, you'll receive an email with a tracking number.

Customer Reviews & Photos
First, I need to share that I ordered from a competitor initially--my plants came in really, really bad shape, After sending photos, they were unwilling to acknowledge or make things right. So I was really wary to order my trees here. But reviews were good. My 1 gal dwarf spruce came in great shape, but really small! And my other plant was in bad shape. After sending a photo of my plant in bad shape, I was THRILLED when the agent agreed with me and was sending a replacement! She also explained that the 1 gal spruce is 6"-10" and to be sure to ask about shipping size thru the chat before ordering. I decided to order 2 of the larger size--2 gal dwarf spruces--which are 2-3 ft. I can't wait to receive them! I am thankful that this company stands by their word unlike the other (The Tree Center). Thank you!
This plant will be the right size ! It’s beautiful and healthy
It is too soon to see if it will live or die. I hope it lives. Once a week walking is good. I am watching it. Ask me in a month. Looks good, for now.
The 34 trees arrived quickly, were well packaged and solved my problem of no availability locally. They are very healthy and exactly as advertised, 2-3 ft. tall. Can't wait to watch them grow.
