Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Ensure the chosen spot gets plenty of sunlight—at least 6 hours a day. Dig a hole that’s twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Place the plant in the hole at the same depth it was growing in the pot, backfill with soil, and gently tamp down to remove air pockets.

2. Watering: Water the plant thoroughly after planting, ensuring the soil is well-moistened. Once established, it prefers moderate watering—allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Be careful not to over-water, as this can lead to root rot.

3. Pruning: During the growing season, deadheading spent blooms encourages more flowering. In late fall, cut back dead stems to the ground once the foliage has browned, which helps prevent disease.

4. Fertilizing: Fertilizing is generally not necessary; however, a light application of a balanced fertilizer in spring can promote healthier growth. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers, as they may lead to weak, leggy growth.
