Large Blooms All Summer

Why Annabelle Hydrangea Shrubs?

Putting on an outstanding show of gigantic flowers, the Annabelle Hydrangea is well worthy of any location in your landscape. In fact, it's got huge blooms the size of softballs, creating a one-of-a-kind ornamental look that's second to none.

With blooms the size of softballs, this ornamental shrub is not your typical hydrangea.

Climbing to a manageable mature height yet producing show-stopping blooms, the Annabelle's flowers are the biggest and most noticeable among the species. The Annabelle's countless, soft white petals make an awesome display against the green leaves and sturdy stems that support its massive flower heads.

Annabelle's beauty begins in June and will grace your garden with showers of elegant bouquets all summer long. Late in the season, the whole process starts again with a second bloom that will make it feel like summer's just beginning.

What is a Jumbo Annabelle Hydrangea Shrub?

Jumbo shrubs are the most mature shrubs offered at Fast Growing Trees. Thanks to their well-developed root systems and large container size, they provide excellent drought resistance and improved nutrient absorption. Jumbos are ideal for creating immediate privacy and adding fullness to your garden beds without the wait.

Grown in limited quantities, Jumbo shrubs are perfect for homeowners who want fast results and a lasting impression in their landscape.

Annabelle Hydrangea shrub

I've planted them and now we may have a freeze. Should I cover them?

Fast Growing Trees Plant ExpertHi Judith, great question and great timing to ask! Yes, definitely cover them if a freeze is expected, especially since they are newly planted. Use a breathable frost blanket rather than plastic and drape it all the way down to the ground to trap heat from the soil. Remove or open the cover during the warmest part of the day and add a 2 to 4 inch layer of mulch around the base for extra root protection. Your Annabelle Hydrangeas are cold-hardy but a little extra care during an unexpected freeze goes a long way!

The two Annabelle hydrangeas arrived

The two Annabelle hydrangeas arrived well-packed, hydrated and healthy. They are growing taller already. I have not been able to put them into the ground yet because night temperatures have been fluctuating below freezing in northern New England in late April. But they clearly look ready. Pleased with purchase.
