Popular Hedge for Complete Year-Round Privacy

Why Nellie Stevens Hollies?

The Nellie Stevens has soared in popularity. Why? Well, for starters, it's the ideal selection for both hedging and privacy screening, especially since it grows up to 3 feet each year.

Plus, it thrives on neglect. No green thumb is no problem since they grow in sun or partial shade. And you'll appreciate how these holly trees stay deep green year-round, unlike other hedge trees that can brown out during either the summer heat or mild droughts.

Plant each Nellie Stevens Holly 5 to 6 feet apart for a living wall that gives you complete privacy, no holes and no gaps. You control how they grow - whether that's naturally into a dense, pyramidal shape that matures at 15 to 25 feet in height, or pruned into a tall box hedge.

What is a Jumbo Nellie Stevens Holly Shrub?

Jumbo shrubs are the most mature shrubs offered at Fast Growing Trees. Thanks to their well-developed root systems and large container size, they provide excellent drought resistance and improved nutrient absorption. Jumbos are ideal for creating immediate privacy and adding fullness to your garden beds without the wait.

Grown in limited quantities, Jumbo shrubs are perfect for homeowners who want fast results and a lasting impression in their landscape.

Furthermore, during the winter months, you'll enjoy the Nellie Stevens' red berries against its deep green foliage. Clip off a few branches to decorate your home for the holidays. Dazzling, graceful wildlife also emerges since those berries attract an array of birds.

But the best part? We plant, grow and nurture our Nellie Stevens for best results. That means you get effortless, amazing-growing benefits without hassle on your part. Once your Nellie is shipped to your door, it's ready to grow and adapt easily in your own landscape.

My 2 Holly Shrubs appear

My 2 Holly Shrubs appear to be setteling in and responding well to Florida's wet season. They ceratinly were traumatized by the FedEx improper handeling but, hopefully the damaged folliage will be replaced by new growth. Thank you for asking.

Fast Growing Trees Plant ExpertHI Robert, we’re sorry to hear about the rough handling during shipping, and we’ll be sure to share this feedback with the carrier. It’s encouraging that your hollies are settling in despite the damage. Please reach out anytime if you need extra care tips as they recover.

The Best Choice I could have made.

We are looking to put up plants crossed our back yard after removing 12 100 year old oak and Maple trees. We thought some kind of evergreen would work. The evergreen would have required a lot 24 plants. I ask around and Fast Growing Trees was recommended. I checked online and fell in LOVE with the Nellie Steven’s Holly Shrubs and ordered 8, 3 gal. plants. They arrived in no time in Great shape and my landscaper was impress with them. We also wanted a Purple Liac Plant in the center but Mr guy could only find White this time of year. I did a quick search on FGT’ webpage and found just what we wanted, it arrived in two days and my landscaper planted it today to finish the job. He was so impressed with the quality of plants and service that he asked for information which I was More than Happy to have him. The only thing better than his work, are the plants from Fast Growing Trees which is know our One Stop, Shop for all our Plants because of the Great Service and Prices.

Just got these and WOW!

I literally just got these but I wanted to provide an initial review. I will try to remember to update this next spring/summer, however I felt I wanted to comment quickly with some photos. For me, not being a green thumb, it was really hard to tell how much a 1 gallon shrub was. I looked online and they differ so much between trees/shrubs/flowers/etc, but still i was so uncertain on how big they actually are. A 1 Gallon Nellie is 7"x7" (depth/width), I didnt measure how tall they were, however I was overly impressed by the size of them, especially since the next lowest one was quart sized. These arrived 3 days early, which at first I wished they hadnt as I cannot plant them until the weekend (in 5 days), however after reading online, this is probably a good thing to get over shipping shock before i put them in the ground. Anyways, I am now on my journey to plant 30 of these beauties across the front of my property line to form a privacy hedge, planted between 5 and 5. 5ft apart. I feel like i am over prepped for these (bought an auger, compost, hollytone, drip irrigation, and all the tools to dig trenches, etc). I am so excited!
