Summer Snow® Gardenia

Planting: Plant in an area of partial sunlight or full shade with well-draining soil. Allow enough room for spread without the threat of other plant roots. The best times of year to plant these gardenias for growth are fall and spring. If planting in colder climates, consider a container so that this foliage can be moved indoors before the first frost.

Watering: Water and mist regularly; drip irrigation is recommended to prevent leaf spots and promote healthy shrub growth.

Fertilizing: To help these acid-loving plants, use fertilizer and iron compounds. Add organic matter and mulch instead of cultivating. For gardenias in warm areas, feed them in mid-March and again in late June for extra flowers on everbloomers or faster growth. Avoid fall fertilization to prevent tender growth.

Pruning: Once the flowering season is over, it is recommended to prune the shrubs to eliminate any straggly branches and faded flowers. This will ensure that the shrubs maintain a neat and tidy appearance throughout the year.
