Sterling® Linden Tree

1. Planting: Choose a location that receives full sun to part shade, ideally with room for the tree to grow freely. Dig a hole that is as deep as the root ball and twice as wide, ensuring good drainage. Place the tree in the hole, making sure the root flare is level with the soil surface, and backfill with native soil. Water the area thoroughly after planting to eliminate air pockets and help the roots establish.

2. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the first couple of years after planting. A regular watering schedule – about once a week depending on rainfall – will help the tree thrive. Established trees are more drought-resistant, but ensuring they receive water during dry spells is beneficial for growth and blooms.

3. Pruning: Prune the Sterling® Linden during its dormant season, preferably late winter or early spring. Remove any dead or diseased branches, and thin out crowded areas to improve air circulation and light penetration. This will keep the tree healthy and encourage a strong, well-formed structure.

4. Fertilizing: Feed your Sterling® Linden with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth begins. This will promote robust foliage and flowering. A good rule of thumb is to follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the correct amount based on the tree's size and age to avoid over-fertilizing.
