Starlight® Dogwood Tree

1. Planting: Choose a location that receives partial to full sunlight for optimal growth. Dig a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball but the same depth. Gently loosen the roots and position the tree in the center of the hole, ensuring that the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Backfill with native soil and water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets.

2. Watering: Newly planted Starlight® Dogwood Trees should be watered regularly, particularly during the first growing season. Aim to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Once established, watering can be reduced, but ensure the tree gets supplemental moisture during dry spells.

3. Pruning: Minimal pruning is needed for this tree, but if shaping is desired, do so in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead or crossing branches to maintain air circulation and encourage a healthy structure.

4. Fertilizing: Fertilization is generally unnecessary for established trees, but you can apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring if the growth seems sluggish. Always follow package instructions, and avoid over-fertilizing, which can harm the tree.
