Attractive - Easy to Grow - Bushels of Plums
You'll love picking these delicious, sun ripened Methley plums from your very own tree... just outside your door!
This vigorous plum tree, considered more productive and attractive than just about any other plum tree, an established tree produces an abundant harvest of fruit each year.
So much, in fact, that one harvest requires multiple pickings! It's an upright, spreading tree with pretty springtime blossoms and glossy green leaves that make it quite ornamental.
The juicy, deep red fruit of the Methley is harvested in late June to early July, and is delicious...eaten freshly picked or made into preserves.
The Methley is self-fertile and does not require another plum tree to produce fruit.
Methley is also a low-maintenance tree that requires little to no pruning. Disease resistant and tolerant of dry, hot conditions. Prefers full sun, but is adaptable to nearly any type of soil. An ideal fruit tree for growing zones 5-9.

Importance of Quality Mulch
I received three Methley Plum trees with a generous amount of leaves already present, which is a testament to Fast Growing Trees' (FHGT) shipping methods. I give FGT five stars for the thought they put into designing their shipping containers. After planting, I noticed the leaves began to wilt. After locating high-quality hardwood mulch, a challenge in the desert Southwest, and determining the proper watering schedule, another challenge in the Upper Sonoran Desert, I am pleased to report that the trees are thriving again. As a neophyte arborist, I am amazed by the importance of locating and using the correct mulch for fruit trees: one derived from hardwood, not softwood, and one with a carbon-to-nitrogen ratio of about 30:1, ensuring your young fruit trees are provided the perfect environment for beneficial fungal growth.
Slowly growing
Good fast shipment. Tree arrived in good shape and was healthy and ready for planting. It's slowly growing and hopefully will be bearing fruit in a year or two

Great
Plum tree
I am very pleased with the tree. I have it inside because it got into the teens and we got some snow. The tree did bloom it’s in flowers right now so as soon as it warms up here in the next 34 days, I plan on planning it, but I am very happy.
