Fragrant White Blooms Meet Compact Growth
Why Hummingbird Summersweet Shrubs?
Fragrant white blooms merge with the promise of richly-hued green growth, delivering contrast to the Hummingbird Summersweet Shrub that's second to none. And this deciduous favorite lives up to its name, attracting graceful wildlife that gives you the most elegant yard on the block.
From mixed borders along your driveway to perennial plantings in your flower beds, the Summersweet stands out...even in wet, swamp-like areas. Unlike similar ornamental varieties, the Summersweet stands up to tough conditions, thriving in a compact growth habit that's well-suited to tight spaces, poor soil conditions and even cold fronts down to -20 degrees. That means you get springtime flowers and vivid autumnal colors for a show that lasts nearly year-round.

Planting & Care
2. Watering: Water your new Hummingbird Summersweet regularly and deeply during its first growing season to help establishment, approximately once weekly. If you’re not sure when to water and how much watering your tree needs, simply check the soil. If the soil is dry down to around 2 or 3 inches, it’s time to water.
3. Fertilizing: If you want to bolster your Summersweet's growth, apply slow-release, well-balanced fertilizer before new growth begins in the spring.
4. Pruning: Pruning isn’t required, but if you’d like to shape your Summersweet, simply do so a few times a year, or however often is necessary to shape.

Plant arrived quickly and looked very healthy. It's been in the ground for almost two weeks and it has shown no trauma due to quality of stock and shipping.
It is **** to tell how this plant will fare after the winter; but, it was very well boxed, and is a healthy plant. The leaves are beautiful, and it has put out new growth since being planted. I am very happy with it to date... Thank you, Patricia
The plant was nice..It took longer than I thought to receive it.
As usual, the plant arrived in good shape. I followed the directions for planting, and it is starting to take off. I can't wait to see is when it is mature and filled out.
We received this shrub several weeks ago, and it has thrived in a half whiskey barrel. The leaves have filled out along with beautiful, whimsical bud formations. Very pleased with this little lady!
