Red-Tinted Thuja Foliage in a Compact Shrub
Why Fire Chief™ Thuja Shrubs?
Bred to grow in a neat, globe-shaped silhouette, the Fire Chief™ Thuja merges classic green foliage with bright gold spring color and dazzling fall hues. And unlike many other evergreen varieties, the Fire grows slowly, is less prone to splitting, and requires zero pruning to look clean and tidy.
Plus, you get all the benefits of evergreen growth in a small fit for limited space. It's still one of the finest evergreens for growth in southern heat and humidity and is a cold-hardy specimen that thrives in freezing areas down to -10 degrees.
One-of-a-kind color brightens the tidy Fire Chief™ in spring, while summertime brings a blazing orange shade that deepens to red in fall. Through it all, the rounded shrub remains compact and clean - no pruning and no fuss, especially since it resists sun and windburn.
Container-planted Fire Chief™ Thujas are ideal for framing entryways or providing sleek, modern privacy for city terraces. It can thrive almost anywhere and stand up to any tough conditions with ease, even in wet, soggy areas where many other varieties fail. It's hard to find beauty and brawn in one compact package, but the Fire Chief™ Thuja Shrub ticks every box.

Planting & Care
1. Planting: Select an area with well-drained soil and full sun (6 to 8 hours of sunlight daily).
Dig a hole that's three times as wide as the root ball but just as deep. Place the tree, backfill the soil, and tamp down. Finally, water the tree to settle the roots and mulch to conserve moisture.
2. Watering: Generally, natural rainfall should be enough to sustain your shrub. If you've planted your tree in a pot, check the soil about 2 inches down for dryness and water when this area is dry.
3. Pruning: You won’t have to prune this shrub unless you'd like to shear for shaping purposes. In that case, you can shape in late spring.
Estimated Shipping Time: Most orders ship immediately. As noted on the website, some items are seasonal, and may only ship in spring or fall. Once your order is shipped, you'll receive an email with a tracking number.

- Fire Chief
It’s been good but am not sure if that’s the way they are supposed to be at this point or if they are a little bit stressed. Waiting to see I am predicting a good outcome, watching and caring for them closely
Shrub arrived in great condition and was a good size
It was a little smaller than I thought it would be, but I planted it right away and it is doing really good. The color has deepened and it looks right at home. Shows up really well against the black mulch I used around it!! Very happy with it!
Shipping was amazing, safe, and quick (as to be expected from FGT) The plant is in the ground and adjusting quite well. Fire Chief is an amazing cultivar with such texture and character. I cannot wait to see it grow to its full potential. All Arbs need watered when they are young!!!
