Smaller than expected

When my Chicago hardy fig arrived, it was quite the shock. It was a 4” stick. However, it has grown quickly and is flourishing. satisfied with its rapid growth and leaves. I found others for a lesser price that were larger but feel confident with the one year guarantee.

Chicago figgy

My plant arrived in good condition, and I have transplanted it into a 17-inch clay pot. It's too early to tell how it is going to do. I'll update this post in a couple of months.

Hardy Chicago Fig Tree

I received Hardy Chicago Fig tree (2 gal. Pot). last February. It was a bit pot bound, so I trimmed the roots and repotted it into a 3 gal. Pot. After doing that, I realized that was probably wrong because of the time of year. I have slightly hard, slightly alkaline water and learned Fig tree requires a bit acidic water. I keep it inside close to my South window, with a grow light on it. It was in shock for a few weeks, but now recovering with new growth. I’m going to follow advice of FGTrees to occasionally add small amount of lemon juice or vinegar to water to give it slightly acid water it requires. Eventually, I plan to repot it into a five gal. Pot. , but no larger, so I can move it outside and inside, using a cart. So thankful it’s forgiven me.
