One of the Fastest Growing Privacy Screens
Why Full Speed A Hedge® American Pillar Arborvitaes?
The Full Speed A Hedge® American Pillar is one of our most popular varieties due to its fast, full growth. After the first year, this tree grows more than 3 feet every year until it reaches its mature height. Plus, since it's extremely narrow, it’s an ideal screen for even tighter spaces.
And there's simply no better option for a privacy screen because it's cheaper than a traditional fence. The Full Speed A Hedge® American Pillar’s dense growth habit and manageable width make it perfect for borders, street hedging and beyond. Since it can grow up to 30 feet, it's even well-suited as a buffer for second-story balconies and decks. Even better? It’s resistant to extreme heat, cold, wind, and ice, so it's super strong. A little watering and it's good to grow!
What is a Jumbo Full Speed A Hedge® American Pillar Arborvitae Tree?
Jumbo trees are the most mature plants offered at Fast Growing Trees. Thanks to their well-developed root systems and large container size of 10-15 gallons, they deliver superior drought resistance, enhanced mineral absorption, and fuller growth. They're the perfect choice for instant privacy and a more established look in your landscape.
Grown in limited quantities, Jumbos are a premium option for those looking to make an immediate impact in their yard.

Count Me Impressed
I am blown away at the quality and condition of the product. Stunned and so was a neighbor. Neighbor still scratching his head that plants so healthy and good looking arrived via a box. Will do this again. Count me impressed.
Great Trees, Lots of Work
Great trees. Be forewarned, however, the advertised photos are patently misleading. We purchased 80 trees. Yes, eighty. 4-5 ft. All survived. . . but not without steady oversight. It takes work, folks. Rule of Thumb for Full Speed a Hedge trees: 1st YEAR = sleep and establish roots. 2nd YEAR = Moderate growth/fill out some. 3rd YEAR = Insane growth. Notice, this does not happen overnight. It also requires a good deal of watering and bi-weekly checks. Photos and videos attached.
Trees are great. Arrived in
Trees are great. Arrived in good shape. Waited a couple of days to get get them acclimated to Texas. They were planted across the back fence to create privacy from the new homes that were built behind us.
Realistic Review
I have read so many reviews that didn't seem realistic. These are great trees, no doubt. But they do not miraculously sprout into giants! The rule of thumb is: Year 1 = Sleep. Year 2 = Creep. Year 3 = Leap. The photos shown in the advertisements are obviously fully grown and mature. We live in West Central Missouri. We planted in March 2024. We purchased 80 trees. Yes, 80 trees! They love water, but do not over-water. They take lots of care = bi-weekly checks. The FIRST YEAR they literally slept and extended their roots. They also filled out a little. The SECOND YEAR they surprised us by springing upwards and filling out ever more. Our current year, the THIRD YEAR, they are growing insanely fast. But I want to condition that statement: it does not happen overnight! And it's not without a lot of oversight, watering, and care.
