Cold Hardy, Non-Invasive Screen with a Tropical Feel
Why Multiplex Bamboo Plants?
Delivering a tropical feel and easy growth that’s non-invasive, the Multiplex Bamboo Plant is a cold hardy, sub-tropical variety that will provide you with a unique screen in no time. In fact, it thrives all the way down to 10 degrees, so its lush growth stands up to tough conditions with ease.
Nicknamed the Hedge Bamboo or Clumping Bamboo, Multiplex is a fast grower that forms into a dense living wall, capable of reaching heights of up to 30 feet in less than 2 years. But it’s so versatile that you can grow it as an exotic privacy fence or plant it in a container on your patio. Its dense, clumping growth makes it well-suited to hedging along borders, driveways, and beyond. And unlike many other bamboo varieties, it’s non-invasive.
No matter where it grows, the yellowish-green Multiplex is perfect for creating a secluded, island-inspired retreat. You can keep it at your desired height easily by pruning just once yearly, meaning you won’t have to continuously trim your Multiplex to get the look you want. And since it’s drought-tolerant, the rain takes care of the watering for you.
Why Fast-Growing-Trees.com is Better
When you order from Fast Growing Trees, your Multiplex Bamboo is healthy and well-rooted, ready for explosive growth. Other nurseries and garden centers, if they offer the Multiplex, supply weaker varieties that take longer to establish in your landscape.
Your Multiplex Bamboo arrives at your door with better growth and better development because we’ve planted, grown, and shipped it with care. In fact, you could get your own green screen in the first year with our larger sizes.

multiplex bamboo
The four plants are still alive after two months. No new growth yet, spring into summer. I bought ten bamboo plants a few years ago and only two have survived, and have not really grown much. Could be clumping bamboo does not like New England weather, although I did buy plants deemed hardy for my area. A house down the road has a huge running bamboo screen against road, which is where I got the idea, about 25 feet tall. Using Fastgrowinngtrees. com was a good experience. Will very likely use this company again.

Beautiful and healthy
The plans arrived, well packed and healthy. I am very pleased with the quality.
Struggling Bamboo
When they arrived they were in a box with plastic on the bottom to hold the soil. Some of the stems were broken. But I figured with them being shipped that would be expected. Ordered them on 8/23 and received them 8/28. Now they aren’t looking too good. Full disclosure I’m terrible with plants, but I purchased some windmill palms at the same time and those are doing great. I could be wrong and this is how they are supposed to look.
