Sunlight
Plant your Needle Palm in an area that receives full-partial sun (4-6 hours of direct sunlight per day).
Watering
Water your Palm 2-3 times per week for the first month, then once a week for the remainder of the first year after planting. Keep the soil moist but well-drained, watering more in times of drought and less when there is rainfall.
Fertilizing
If necessary, use a palm-specific fertilizer for your Palm. Slow-release fertilizer is best to allow the smaller root system to uptake what it needs. Apply close to the base and start in spring/follow specific fertilizer instructions.

Needle Palm in New York 2015 to 2023
I originally bought this Palm Tree as a joke for my brother who would not stop talking about I want to move to where I have a Palm Tree in my yard. We are in New York on Long Island so we do get very cold winters and a lot of rain. He planted this in his yard in 2015. He moved it to several different locations when it was smaller and he just posted a photo of this tree today Which I have shared here. He's moving to Florida and I don't think he can take it with him. The one on the left is 2015 and the right was taken a few weeks ago.
