Grow Your Own Delicious Blueberries in The South

Have you always wanted to pick blueberries from your garden, but can’t find any blueberry plants that work for your climate?

The Powderblue Blueberry is perfect for you if you want to grow fresh blueberries in zones 7-9.

Heat tolerant and only needing a little over 500 chill hours, these blueberries vigorously grow in moderate to hot temperatures.

Getting their name from the powdery blue color, these sweet-tart blueberries will thrill your taste buds!

The taste isn’t the only thing that’s going to thrill you:

·  Very little maintenance – no pruning, minimal pest management, and drought tolerant, this is a great plant for novice fruit growers.

·  Incredibly nutritious – antioxidants and loads of vitamins make the Powderblue Blueberry a guilt-free snack.

· Ornamental value – the dense, hedge-like bushes grow to 6-8 ft. tall and wide and are covered with tiny white and pink flowers in spring and stunning light blue blueberries in summer.

Once you taste a fresh blueberry, you’ll never settle for store-bought again. Perfectly firm on the outside and soft and juicy in the middle, these bite-sized berries are mouthwatering in summer.

And you’ll get such a huge harvest, you’ll have plenty to share…

But don’t feel bad for wanting to keep them all to yourself – they’re that good. They freeze wonderfully and are great to add to smoothies, dessert recipes, or even turn into jams.

The Powerdblue Blueberry is a Rabbiteye blueberry and it needs another variety of Rabbiteye to grow.

Order yours today and don’t forget to purchase a Premier Blueberry bush too so both will have a chance to thrive!

Planting & Care

It's Easy to Plant & Care for Your Powderblue Blueberry

Powderblue Blueberry Planting Diretions

You can plant your Powderblue Blueberry in your garden or in a pot. Either way, you'll need to make sure it gets full sun and the soil is well drained and acidic. If you plant in your garden, be sure to leave 10ft. of space between your other plants. Birds love blueberries too, so make sure you use a garden net to get the most out of your harvest.

Watering: Powderblue Blueberries are drought tolerant, but need to be watered once a week during the first year. Don't overwater the bush. The roots are very shallow and can easily drown.

Fertilization: Once you see leaves on your plant, you can add some acidic fertilizer. Once your plant is fully mature, you can fertilize it once a year in June and again in the fall if it didn't harvest well.

Pruning: You won't need to prune your Powederblue Blueberry unless you want to manage the size and shape of the hedge. If so, prune in late winter.

Pollination: This is not a self-fertile plant and will need another variety of Rabbiteye blueberry to thrive. We recommend the Premiere Blueberry.

When to pick: Your blueberries are ready to pick and eat when they fall right into your hand. When they easily fall off without plucking, then they're perfectly ripe. Blueberries will last 1 week in your fridge, but you'll need to freeze them if you don’t eat them in a week.
