Skyline® Honeylocust Tree

1. Planting: Choose a location that receives full sun for optimal growth. The Skyline® Honeylocust prefers well-drained soils but is adaptable to various soil types. Dig a planting hole that is twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep, placing the tree in the center and backfilling with soil. Water the tree thoroughly after planting to help settle the soil around the roots.

2. Watering: During its first year, ensure the tree receives regular watering, especially during dry spells. The root zone should be kept moist, but avoid overwatering. Once established, the Skyline® Honeylocust is quite drought-tolerant and may only need supplemental watering during prolonged dry periods.

3. Pruning: Light pruning is recommended in late winter or early spring to maintain the tree’s shape and remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Avoid heavy pruning, as this can encourage excessive growth and affect the tree’s overall health.

4. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring to promote healthy growth. It’s best to follow soil test recommendations to ensure that you’re providing the right nutrients to your tree based on local soil conditions.
