Why Lemon Grass Plants?

The tall, perennial Lemon Grass Plant grows quickly and emits a citrus scent (and flavor!) you'll love. It's known as a natural insect repellant, but it's a versatile pick that's also ideal for cooking.

Use your Lemon Grass stalks to flavor stir-fry, soups, sauces, and more. The culinary uses are limitless! Its leaves and stalks are chocked full of vitamins A, B, C, & E and are a great source of potassium, magnesium, and zinc.

Even better? It's a survival plant. The oil of the Lemon Grass plant is a natural antibacterial and antifungal agent, and is used in many homeopathic formulas.

    Little concerned but hopeful

My plant arrived somewhat brown and seems to be getting worse. I checked back on FG site today to see if I am caring for it correctly. I noticed my growing zone recommends "patio". I planted it in my flowerbed at my porch. Let's see what happens over the next month.

Fast Growing Trees Plant ExpertHi Adrian! The lemon grass is recommended for growing zones 9-11 when planting in ground. It is likely getting too cold and causing some browning. We'd recommend keeping it potted and it will need to be brought indoors in the winter months or when temperatures are getting cold at night (anything below 40 will stress it out, it can withstand a brief drop down to 30 degrees). Please let us know if we can help with any other questions/concerns!

    shipping and arrival of plant

Lemon grass arrived almost completely brown. It has been outside getting sunlight and water and is still brown with no new growth. My previously purchased plants are thriving and doing well. The holidays have been busy so I did not connect with you so thanking you for reaching out.
