Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant in well-drained soil in a sunny location, spacing multiple plants about 3-4 feet apart, and provide regular watering to establish healthy growth.

2. Watering: Water deeply and evenly, ensuring the soil is consistently moist but not waterlogged, particularly during dry spells, while avoiding overhead watering to prevent foliage diseases.

3. Fertilizing: Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer formulated for roses in early spring, then again in mid-summer, following package instructions for proper application and dosage.

4. Pruning: Other than for shaping purposes, no pruning is required for your Lavender Crush Climbing Rose.

Lavender crush

In the ground but hasn't had a chance to bloom.

Fast Growing Trees Plant ExpertWe're happy your Lavender Crush Climbing Rose is in the ground, Charlene! No blooms yet is completely normal as young roses establish first. Give it patience and those beautiful fragrant blooms are going to be stunning.

Beautifully fragrant rose

There were some wilting blooms on this rosebush when it arrived and the fragrance was heavenly. The soil was still moist around the roots but the blooms and some of the leaves were showing stress. By the time I ordered this rose our NM sun was getting pretty intense and additionally we have had some really strong winds for a lot of days. Each idea that I created to shade the newly planted rose was then destroyed by strong winds within a few days. It has been in the ground for about a month now. All of the original leaves and blooms were finally trimmed back, sunshade set up is now staying put, and new growth is sprouting out. I am beginning to have hope that it will survive.

Fast Growing Trees Plant ExpertWe're so glad your Lavender Crush Climbing Rose is showing new growth, Gloria! That heavenly fragrance right out of the box is wonderful. Some wilting on arrival is completely normal after shipping and nothing to worry about. We completely understand how challenging the intense NM sun and strong winds can be for a newly planted rose. Your persistence in finding a shade solution that finally holds shows real dedication. New growth is such a hopeful sign. Let us know if you need any help!
