Colorama™ Coral Crape Myrtle Shrub

1. Planting: Choose a location with full sun for optimal blooming, ideally at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Dig a hole that is twice the width of the root ball and just as deep. Place the shrub in the hole, making sure the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill with soil and water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets.

2. Watering: Water deeply and infrequently to encourage a strong root system. Once established, this plant is drought-tolerant and can thrive on rainfall alone in moderate climates. In dry spells, ensure it receives watering every two to four weeks, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings.

3. Pruning: To maintain a tidy shape and promote fuller growth, prune the plant in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead or damaged branches and thin out crowded areas to allow for better air circulation.

4. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring with a balanced slow-release fertilizer, which will support healthy growth and abundant blooms. Follow package directions for application rates, and avoid over-fertilization, which can lead to excessive leaf growth at the expense of flowers.
