Cloudburst™ Dogwood Tree

1. Planting: Choose a location that receives partial sun to full shade, ideally in rich, well-drained soil. Dig a hole that is twice the width of the tree’s root ball but no deeper than the ball itself. This will allow for healthy root growth. Place the tree in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the ground, and backfill with soil. Water thoroughly to help the soil settle.

2. Watering: Establishing the Cloudburst™ Dogwood requires consistent watering, especially during its first season. Aim for about an inch of water per week, either through rainfall or irrigation. Once established, you can decrease watering frequency, but monitor for hydration during dry spells to keep the tree healthy.

3. Pruning: Prune the Cloudburst™ Dogwood in late winter or early spring while it is still dormant. Focus on removing any dead, damaged, or crossing branches to maintain an open canopy that promotes airflow. Light shaping can be done to enhance the tree’s natural form, but avoid heavy pruning, as this species thrives on its natural layered structure.

4. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to promote robust growth and blooming. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application rates. Be cautious not to over-fertilize, as dogwoods prefer slightly acidic to neutral pH levels in their soil.
