Why Big Blue Liriope Plants?
Grassy evergreen foliage merges with bold blue-purple blooms, making the Big Blue Liriope an eye-catching favorite. The flowers mark the end of summer, lasting until fall then giving way to shiny black berries in the winter.
It's perfect for edging along a flower garden or mixed border...especially since it can be used as a groundcover to prevent erosion. Big Blue is a landscape problem solver because it thrives through tough conditions, including dry or shady areas.

Care condition and leaves were all a 5!
Oh, My DEER!!!
I must post this addendum to my original post (see below). __________ My Liriope plants, which arrived looking gorgeous, are still doing fine. But there's a problem. These aren't resistant to deer, at least not to Connecticut shoreline deer! Three of my eight plants were eaten quite a bit but, thankfully, not down to the dirt. __________ I've purchased ultrasonic repellent gizmos with LED flashing lights. So far, so good. But the cold winter months, when deer can get mighty hungry, will be the ultimate test. __________ The deer seem to eat just about anything!! I hope these plants can recuperate. But can they survive the deer's voracious appetite? If not, I don't know what I'll ever be able to plant in my lamppost planter that I haven't already tried!
Impressive, but NOT Deer Resistant!
Plants arrived in excellent condition. Very healthy. But within 48 hours, deer cropped them down to 2 inch stubs. The deer seemed to prefer these over other available greenery nearby, as if they are Deer Candy rather than being deer-resistant. Not a total loss, I am sure these will grow back. . . once relocated to a protected place.
So Sorry, My Deer!
We live about 8 miles, as the crow flies, from the shoreline in southern Connecticut. My Big Blue Liriope plants arrived in perfect condition. Each pot was tightly wrapped in plastic. The root balls were dense and well-established. The leaves were healthy and very green, with nary a brown spot. __________ The plants easily slid out of their pots, exposing a virtual bird's-nest of roots, ready to spread into the surrounding soil in our driveway lamppost planter. My wife and I can hardly wait to see them grow and produce flowers in the late summer and fall, followed by berries in the winter. __________ Hopefully, this will cure our problem of deer eating every single plant and flower we've ever planted in that raised planter. I like deer, but sorry! I'm sick and tired of providing them with a tasty, free salad bar every year. LOL!
