Produces Tons Of Delicious, Sweet And Creamy Fruit

The Sugar Apple tree, also known as the 'annona squamosal', is a unique tropical tree that's the clear winner amongst its competition because it produces a distinctive fruit with an individual look and tropical flavor that blows people away.

Sugar apples taste like a sweet vanilla custard with a hint of pineapple. Its smooth and slightly grainy texture makes this fruit a delight to snack on. While most Sugar Apples are eaten fresh, they can also be used in desserts and for making juices.

Don't fight yourself from eating one Sugar Apple after another, because they are packed with vitamins and nutrients like Vitamin A, C, potassium and more. Sugar Apples are the perfect refreshing and healthy snack.

Sugar Apples, often referred to as 'sweetsops', have a unique shape, similar to a heart and light green skin that's divided up into sections. Its conical nature causes the fruit to look like a green pinecone at first, but since the fruit is split among different sections it's very easy to split apart and eat fresh, right off the tree.

Once you pull your Sugar Apple apart you'll find soft and creamy flesh on the inside that's divided into sections. Simply pick out the white flesh sections one by one and eat them for a rush of rich tropical flavors.

You don't have to live without Sugar Apple trees, because they will grow anywhere. They'll give your landscape a lush tropical feel if planted in the ground, and they also thrive in containers. They can be placed around porches, patios, and inside any room to liven up the space with their long and slender exotic leaves.

Sugar Apple Trees produce an irresistible fruit that people can't wait to try. They're selling out fast, so we recommend ordering yours today before they are all gone.

I'm very hopeful for this plant
This little darling arrived basically out of its pot (bare rooted) due to the shipping., so after I repotted it, gave it the boost liquid (for when repotting) and gave it a good drink of water, I hoped that since it only took 2 days in transit, it would not go into much shock. It's been about a month now & its leaves are getting tiny brown spots all over & the leaves themselves are turning a very dark brown to black...this might be from dormancy issues (hopefully) it ships from the Carolinas & I live in the Florida Keys, which are a good deal hotter. The company has promised that if it should die by spring of 2019, they will replace it for me. I certainly hope & pray it does make it through.

Sugar Apple Tree
This is the first time I have ordered from FGT. I ordered 2 other trees at the same time I ordered my Sugar Apple. All three trees arrived in excellent condition and have continued to do well. I will be ordering again from FGT's.

I don't know, so far it is still doing ok, though some leaves turned dark and fall off. I like the way it's been delivered (well pack) to my home in southern CA. I ordered from other nursery before and lol, they sent me bare root and it died by the time it gets to my place. I promised myself that I would never buy online again but I can resist the ad from Fast-Growing thus I gave a try. Hopefully it will survive until it bears fruit. However I wish that you would have more varieties of Dragon fruits & tropical fruits, like top-tropical nursery so I can order more...

Sugar Apple Tree (Sweetsop Tree)
Boosted Property Value

Trees are valuable, especially when they grow up and bear fruit. Even a single nectarine tree will provide free fruit and shade to make the property more comfortable. Buyers love those benefits, so planting fruit trees will raise the value of most homes.

It's wise for investors to plant a mixture of species to make sure they have something to appeal to any buyer. It's also a good idea to plant fruits that are hard to find in local stores. For example, apricot trees are an excellent choice if nearby grocery stores do not carry them, but plums or other fruits would be better if they are easy to find. When in doubt, follow your instincts and plant whatever appeals to you, since other buyers are also likely to appreciate your favorites.

Fruits from India
I am amazed at how quickly this tree is growing. It looks beautiful and has tripled in size in just a few months. I live in zone 7 so I will have to take it in the house before the weather goes below 60 degrees. My daughter lived in India as a missionary and she said this fruit was amazing so whenever I saw this I had to get it so she can show us how fantastic this fruit is.

Planting & Care

It's Easy to Plant & Care for Your Sugar Apple Tree (Sweetsop Tree)

Step 1: Dig Your Hole

Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your Sugar Apple Tree (Sweetsop Tree).

First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width.

Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through.

Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.

Planting & Care

Step 2: Place Your Plant

Next, separate the roots of your Sugar Apple Tree (Sweetsop Tree) gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole.

The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil.

Then make sure the plant is exactly vertical in the hole.

To make it just right, use a level.

Step 3: Backfill Your Hole

As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets.

Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps.

Water your Sugar Apple Tree (Sweetsop Tree) again after the transplant is complete.

My favorite fruit - hard to find
Aaman L on May 25, 2018
It sounded interesting. I have lived all over the world and I don't ever remember seeing this fruit. It sounds a lot like the Pawpaw tree from West Virginia. The pawpaw fruit is also pudding like but a completely different looking fruit, and it sounds like it tastes differently..I'm excited to try it.. I also grow lemon trees even though I'm in zone 7. One tree is 18 years old I bring them into my garage at first sign of frost.

How long till the sugar apple tree bears fruit?
Loretta on Mar 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It can grow within 1.5 -2 years for a standard tree grown from seed in zone 8-10. For greenhouse/indoor growing up (and outdoors in summer) to zone 7-8 I would say 3-4 years.
How well do these grow indoors?
Diane F on Mar 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Sugar apple does well in warm climate outdoors that last all year, but will be able to grow, but at a slower pace compared to one that can grow year-round out doors. Since it takes between 2-3 years to grow from seed, I would say it would take longer to produce, but as long as there is around 6 months of fruiting time outdoors it can grow normal quality fruit if given sufficient light indoor during fall-winter. Its similar to guava that soil isn't fussy, and tends to be lanky so pinch top growth every few months for stronger stem. A 5 gallon container is sufficient since its roots are shallow.
Is Sugar Apple tree self pollinating?
Aines M on Feb 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes they are self pollinating.
Can these trees grow in New York?
Jackie on Apr 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The outdoor growing zones are 9-11. Click the link to look up what growing zone you are in.
For zones 4-8 you would need to bring indoors in the winter.
What season does this plant fruit?
TheTachyon T on Oct 3, 2018
In the narrative, it is suggested to dig the hole 1" more shallow than the root ball, a very common practice when planting trees. However in the diagrams, depicted is the soil level above the root ball and onto the trunk, which can result in "drowning" the tree. Which is correct? Are these grafter trees? N
Nathan on Jul 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The planting of the sugar apple, should be at the base level of your land. This will provide even water at the base, but I do have mine planted a little bit lower. I am in southern Louisiana, and the rainy season pushes my mulch around the base of the tree. It doesn't seem that sugar apples are grafted, there were no indications.

Tammy on Sep 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can grow a sugar apple tree in Minnesota, however, you will need to take extra care to keep the temp above 70, its accomplished by either taking the tree into a warmer place lack a greenhouse, or cover and use heat lamp under the cover of the plastic surrounding, if you are also able to have a rocket stove made to help keep tree warm. youtube can help with building one or buying one.
