All-Around Winner

The Redskin Peach Tree gets high marks all-around! It’s a descendent of two favored varieties, the Red Haven and Elberta peach trees, and combines the best of both into one premium fruit producer.

Its peaches are medium to large-sized with velvety, crimson-colored skin and vibrant, yellow flesh. A top choice fresh market peach, these tasty treats are fully freestone with a firm, juicy texture that packs a sweet, tangy punch!

Multi-Purpose Peach

Ideal for a multitude of edible uses, these peaches maintain their flavor whether canned, frozen, baked or preserved. Of course, one bite from a freshly picked Redskin, and your harvest may not make it to the pantry!

Although the calendar provides some timing guidance, Redskins ripen over a 2 to 3-week period. Look for peaches fully covered in a vibrant, red blush. Take a sniff. A ripe peach should smell distinctly peach-like. If it bounces back from a gentle squeeze, it’s ready to eat!

Fresh Peaches in No-Time!

It doesn’t take long before a Redskin nurtured by Fast Growing Tree starts to bare fruit. We understand produce is the priority with this tree, so we make the extra investment to grow it within 1 or 2 years of fruiting. By the time the Redskin reaches peak productivity – 7 to 10 years – you’ll be “raking in” pounds of peaches!

As a mid-season fruit, the Redskin’s pink flowers generally debut after threat of spring frost with harvest season falling between late July and August. Keep in mind, the warmer your locale, the earlier in summer these peaches ripen.

Light on Care, BIG on Results

Many peach trees can be finicky, but the fast-growing Redskin is equipped with disease resistant traits that are appreciated by farmers and home growers alike. Find a location with well-draining soil and lots of sunshine – as in 8-plus hours during the growing season.

If you live in a cooler climate, the Redskin is a superb choice. It can handle temps as low as -20 °F and requires 750 chill hours to bud and bloom reliably. On the map, it’s a proven high-yield producer in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and across the Midwest.

Just the Right Size Tree!

Considered a dwarf peach tree, the Redskin variety was bred with manageability in mind. It reaches a maximum height of 10 to 15 feet, but with a little extra spring pruning, you can keep it even smaller, while at the same time training it to branch out wider.

Not only does this variety make easy work of harvest season, it fits in smaller spaces! And since it’s self-fertilizing, there’s no need for a second pollinator tree. Plant one Redskin, and you’re in the peach-growing business!

News of this superior peach is spreading quickly, so get your Redskin ordered today. You’ll be well on your way to harvest season with a peach tree from Fast Growing Trees!

Redskin Peach Tree Pollination

Redskin Peach Trees are self-fertile. You will get fruit with only one plant. However, adding an additional Redskin Peach Tree will drastically increase the size of your crop.

Planting & Care

It's Easy to Plant & Care for Your Redskin Peach Tree

Step 1: Dig Your Hole

Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your Redskin Peach Tree.

First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width.

Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through.

Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.

Planting & Care

Step 2: Place Your Plant

Next, separate the roots of your Redskin Peach Tree gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole.

The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil.

Then make sure the plant is exactly vertical in the hole.

To make it just right, use a level.

Step 3: Backfill Your Hole

As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets.

Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps.

Water your Redskin Peach Tree again after the transplant is complete.
