Lisbon Lemon Tree

1. Planting:  

For a Lisbon seedless lemon tree, choose a well-draining pot with a diameter of 10-14 inches and sufficient drainage holes. Use a well-draining potting mix, like our DIY Primo Potting Mix for citrus.

When planting, prepare an area three times the diameter of the pot with loose, well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball at the same depth as the pot, keeping the crown of the roots above the soil line. Water thoroughly after planting.

Position the potted tree in a sunny spot with 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. In colder climates, move it outdoors in warm months and indoors when temperatures drop. Harvest Lisbon lemons when they are fully yellow and firm, typically in winter.

2. Watering: Keep the soil moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch feels dry, and avoid standing water to prevent root rot.

3. Fertilizing: Feed your Lisbon lemon tree with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season (spring to early fall), following package instructions.

4. Pruning: To shape the tree and remove dead or diseased branches, prune as needed. The main pruning should take place in early spring.

5. Pollination:

Since this plant is self-pollinating, it requires no other varieties to produce fruit. However, additional citrus trees can increase the production load during the harvest season.
