Bold Fall Colors for Street or Shade
Why Katsura Trees?
The Katsura Tree is a gorgeous Asian shade tree that’s easy to grow and tolerant of most soil conditions and environments. From its high-quality autumnal colors to its effortless upkeep, the Katsura is the quintessential plant-and-forget shade tree.
Even better? It's pollution tolerant, with a shallow root system. That means it's perfect for lining streets since it filters the air and won't destroy sidewalks or streets with invasive, deep root systems.
And it gives off a subtle yet enticing aroma. Imagine walking in your yard in fall and noticing an alluring smell of caramelized sugar and cinnamon. As your non-invasive, pest and disease resistant tree grows, it will embody the warm feeling of autumn with its large, colorful leaves and seasonal scent.
Why Fast-Growing-Trees.com is Better
For starters, our Katsura Tree grows as a pyramidal shape when young, so it even looks good before it’s established.
And since we've planted, grown and shipped it for best results, it's poised for a long, lush life in your own landscape. When it arrives at your door, it arrives ready-to-grow, with a healthier root system and more developed branching than what's available at your local nursery or big box store.
This popular tree is a no-brainer for those who want the good looks of fall without the work. Get your own Katsura Tree today!

Trees arrived as promised and we are pleased with the trees and shipment
This is the 4th Katsura I have planted in my yard. I keep trying as I need a tree that will give me some yellow color in fall. I live in South central Kansas and we get some heat in summer. The first few I planted out in the open spaces of my 3 acre yard. The first 3 died right away or over the winter. This one seems to be doing much better. I found an area of the yard that is the first to get shade in the afternoon and the Katsura has lots of new leaves. It was planted just over a month ago so time will tell if it survives through the winter as I lost 2 of them last winter. The earlier Katsura's that died were 3 to 4 feet when I ordered them. The new one was 5 to 6 feet so maybe that extra age has helped it as well. I'm optimistic it will make it back next spring.
Came packaged well! It is planted and has a couple of new sprouts! It is now a wait and see! Next spring will better tell how well it will do!
It is what I think of when I look at it. This was a replacement to the first one that arrived dying and eventually died. FGT was easy enough to talk to and sent me a replacement after I showed them the picture of the arrival of the 1st one. The 2nd one seems to be thriving but still small and runty looking after 3 weeks. I have ordered other trees from FGT but this was by far the thinnest smallest and runt-looking of all. But it is still alive and thriving - I can't really complain. I will update my review after a couple of months.
I was very disappointed. They were not cheap in price and I expected trees that were in better condition.
When I received the trees the leaves were all dry and falling off and the trees looked dead. I called as soon as I received the trees. I talked to a representative to let her know this and she said wait a few weeks to see if there was new growth. There is no new growth and they still look dead.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: For your Katsura Tree, select an area with full to partial sun (4 to 8 hours of sunlight) and well-drained soil.
When you're ready to plant your tree, dig a hole that's large enough to accommodate your tree's root ball, place your tree and backfill the surrounding soil. We recommend mulching to conserve moisture, and watering to settle the roots and finish the planting process.
2. Watering: Ensure your water your Katsura Tree regularly, about once or twice weekly, or more in drought conditions. If you're not sure when to water, simply check the surrounding soil about 5 inches down. If the soil is dry here, it's time to water your tree.
