Tree is Doing Exceptionally Well
My tree is about 10 feet tall after purchasing it at a height of 6-7 feet a little over 2 years ago. It has produced 13 fully mature pine cones within a few months, whereas most eastern white pine trees require 2-3 years for this process. While quick pine cone growth can be a sign of drought or stress, I make sure my tree gets watered enough and it has grown quite a bit. The pine cones yielded 223 seeds, and one seedling started growing nearby the tree. Fast Growing Trees confirmed the seedling is the same species and likely from the tree I purchased from them, and this suggests the seeds are viable. I have 2 other eastern white pine trees from Fast Growing Trees which have not produced pine cones, but they have also grown a few feet and have gotten much wider and fuller. They smell amazing, and I like how the branches appear "spiky" by pointing upwards. I'm looking forward to these trees getting huge, and I plan on planting many more of these trees in my yard using the seeds. I was satisfied with the customer service I received from Fast Growing Trees when I had questions. My advice to other customers is to plant the eastern white pine tree in a completely flat area, perfectly straight up, and at the right depth-this is likely why one of my eastern white pines is doing better than the others. They're all flourishing though, and it's the only type of tree I've gotten from Fast Growing Trees which has had no issues. Other types of trees are susceptible to weeds if you don't put mulch around them, but I still eventually put mulch around my eastern white pines to give them their best chance. I like how the eastern white pines look more like a northern pine tree, as the needles aren't super long, light-colored, or concentrated high up in the tree like a loblolly or southern pine. 10/10 would recommend. The eastern white pine is my favorite evergreen tree.
Healthy, pretty tree - good price
This is my second white pine from fast growing trees. I planted the first one 2 weeks ago; it’s doing fine. I particularly appreciate well-packed and fast shipping so that stress on the tree is limited. All my plants have arrived in good condition.
