Be to do extra work if you are in Texas.
Fast growers. I’m in Zone 9, in the Texas Hill Country. I brought in soil for my garden and mixed it myself with necessary nutrients to keep these healthy. These are my favorite evergreens to look at. These were taken in December 2024. They’ve grown taller in the last year. Keep in mind that you need to become an avid gardener in Texas if you want them to thrive. They need organic food and don’t like overhead water from your water hose. Research Hugelkulture if you want to know how to make them thrive. Don’t forget your root rocket packs. I purchased 12 at 4-6 feet due to a slope. Only four have struggled. I’m only replacing two since the other two keep coming back. It takes time for them to acclimate. Just keep giving them a little water and attention. The two I lost were due to ants and the fact I was on bed rest after two major surgeries. That’s gardening for you! ;) Sidenote: Some of the pics have the Arborvite Thuja Green Giant in the background. Great privacy hedges, noise barriers, and windscreens.
