Don't Buy Bare-Root Trees (learn why below)

Naturally repels insects

The Neem Tree has been cultivated for centuries for its many beneficial uses, including using the leaves to naturally repel pests. The leaves are often stored in cabinets, windows and grain storages to keep bugs away.

Instead of using harmful chemical sprays to keep destructive bugs like aphids from entering your garden, or annoying bugs like mosquitos away, you can add a Neem Tree to your landscape for an organic solution to pest problems. Best of all, Neem trees don’t bother good bugs like pollinators and won’t keep them away from your yard.

The leaves and flowers of Neem trees are often used in teas because they are filled with nutrients like vitamin E, vitamin A, Potassium, Calcium, magnesium and antioxidants to naturally boost the immune system.

All parts of the tree, and mainly the fruit, produce oil that is used in soaps and lotions, and the leaves are often placed in baths because their nutrients and antioxidants will soothe dry skin and provide relief for conditions like eczema.

Neem trees are evergreens that are a delight to grow. They have full thick canopies that add dense color to the landscape and provide shade. In the spring, Neem Trees erupt with large clusters of fragrant white blooms that will add beauty and a floral fragrance to your yard before turning into ornamental, vibrant yellow fruit.

If you live outside of growing zones 9 through 11, place your Neem tree in a container and bring it indoors for the colder months. They love growing indoors and will fill any space with tropical color.

By being native to dry and arid climates, Neem trees are extremely drought tolerant and heat resistant. They will thrive during the hottest and most dry parts of the year. Plant your low maintenance tree and relax as it instantly starts to naturally repel pests.

Planting & Care

It's Easy to Plant & Care for Your Neem Tree

Step 1: Dig Your Hole

Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your Neem Tree.

First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width.

Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through.

Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.

Planting & Care

Step 2: Place Your Plant

Next, separate the roots of your Neem Tree gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole.

The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil.

Then make sure the plant is exactly vertical in the hole.

To make it just right, use a level.

Step 3: Backfill Your Hole

As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets.

Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps.

Water your Neem Tree again after the transplant is complete.

How much does this grow per year?
Kim B on May 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They can grow 3-4 feet per year.
what kind of soil would you use to plant neem tree in a pot ? Also what kind os fertilizer does it like?
Tina M on May 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If you live in a somewhat tropical area I would use some soil from the yard. An area where grass can live is good cause it tells you there’s not too much or too little nitrogen or other things that could throw off the trees growth. You do not need garden soil but it also shouldn’t hurt if anything it will provide nutrients. I fertilize once in the spring will a slow releasing furtilizer. To help prevent root rot I recommend a pot that is Not plastic. The basic plastic ones just seem to hold water around the roots and do not drain as well. At least from my own exporience. Some decent yard soil mixed with some garden soil should work well. The Neem Tree is very tough I had one my dog dig up twice and I still managed to have it begin to mature in the yard. Amazing tree!
what kind of soil does Neem tree like, specially when planting in Pot ? Also what kind of fertilizer does it like?
