The Houseplant That Survives Any Conditions

The Corn Plant, or ‘Dracaena’, is the top indoor plant, perfect for keeping in the home or office because they are impossible to kill. They will thrive in areas with low, indirect light with little to no maintenance.

Corn Plants are very forgiving and won’t go down for the count if someone forgets to water them. Also, it doesn’t need regular fertilizing or pruning; simply plant your Corn Plant in a container and watch it brighten up the room.

Not only will Corn Plants look great, but also they will make you feel great. Their leaves quickly get to work filtering toxins out of the air so instead of breathing old stale air filled when chemicals that come from cigarette smoke and other irritants you’ll have an endless supply of fresh clean air.

By only growing 4 to 6 feet tall and about 3 feet wide, Corn Plants can fit anywhere. Place your Corn Plant on your desk, coffee table, or in the corners of your favorite room to fill the space with vibrant tropical color.

They’re often the center of attention with their unique beauty. Corn Plants have multiple grey stems that lead up to crowns full of lush, arching leaves, similar to the leaves on stalks of corn. The leaves are wide, flat and shiny with distinct yellow stripes in the middle.

Corn Plants are often placed in open spaces like lobbies and meeting rooms because their tropical look inspires creativity. They reduce stress and boredom while increasing productivity with purified, fresh air.

Planting & Care

It's Easy to Plant & Care for Your Corn Plant 'Dracena'

Step 1: Dig Your Hole

Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your Corn Plant 'Dracena'.

First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width.

Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through.

Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.

Planting & Care

Step 2: Place Your Plant

Next, separate the roots of your Corn Plant 'Dracena' gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole.

The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil.

Then make sure the plant is exactly vertical in the hole.

To make it just right, use a level.

Step 3: Backfill Your Hole

As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets.

Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps.

Water your Corn Plant 'Dracena' again after the transplant is complete.
