Shangri la® Ginkgo Tree

1. Planting: Choose a location with full sun and well-drained soil. Dig a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball and as deep as the ball itself. Place the tree in the center of the hole, ensuring that the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Backfill gently, and water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets.

2. Watering: During the first growing season, keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. After establishing, the Shangri La Ginkgo is drought tolerant; water during prolonged dry spells to maintain health and vigor. Aim to water once a week in dry months if rainfall is insufficient.

3. Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead or crossing branches to improve air circulation and shape the tree, ensuring its compact crown maintains its attractive form. Minimal pruning is required due to its naturally dense branching.

4. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring using a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to encourage healthy growth. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the right quantity, as over-fertilization can harm the tree. If the tree appears to lack vigor, a light application of fertilizer can be beneficial.
