1. Planting: Choose a location with full sun to partial shade for optimal growth. Dig a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball and about the same depth. Ginkgo trees prefer well-draining soil, so consider adding organic matter or compost if your soil is heavy or clay-like. Place the tree in the hole, ensuring that the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil, and backfill gently. Water thoroughly after planting.

2. Watering: While this ginkgo is drought-tolerant once established, regular watering should be provided during the first growing season to help establish deep roots. Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the top inch or two of soil to dry out between watering sessions. After establishment, you can reduce the frequency of watering, especially in rainy seasons.
