Easy-Growing, Bright-Blooming Perennial

Looking for an eye-catching, plant-anywhere perennial? The May Night Salvia is the perfect choice.

With tall, spiky indigo-blue flowers and mounds of soft, green foliage, the May Night Salvia (also known as May Night Sage or Meadow Sage) adds bright color to mixed borders, flower beds, patio containers and more. It's well-suited to cottage landscapes, rock gardens or cut flower beds.

It's one of the easiest perennials to grow and maintain. Whether you're an expert gardener or a first-time grower, you'll get months of vibrant, re-blooming flowers. This low-maintenance show-stopper is also drought tolerant once established, and resistant to deer and rabbits.

A sweet fragrance means it attracts pollinators like bees, butterflies and hummingbirds - and it makes for lush bouquets of cut flowers in your home, or to give to friends.

Not as deer resistant as I thought

The 2 plants arrived slightly wilted, but that wasn't a huge deal because I planned on immediately planting and watering them. Unfortunately, even though these are supposed to be deer resistant, it was already being eaten the day after planting. I was pretty surprised, as I feel like the deer have plenty of other things to eat in May. I have purchased other deer resistant plants through this site and the only time deer would eat them was in the winter. If planting in a place with a large deer population, I would consider planting where they can't access like a fenced in area

Fast Growing Trees Plant ExpertHello Denise! We’re sorry to hear the deer got to your plants so quickly. Even deer-resistant plants can be tempting to hungry, persistent deer, especially in areas with high deer populations. Fencing is often the best way to protect them. Feel free to contact us anytime if you need help or advice.
