1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location that receives full to partial sunlight, ideally with well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball but no deeper than the ball itself. Gently loosen the roots before placing the plant in the ground and fill in with soil, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Spread a layer of mulch 3 feet around the shrub to conserve moisture, insulate roots, and suppress weeds. Water thoroughly after planting to help settle the soil.

2. Watering: Water regularly, especially during the first growing season, to establish a strong root system. Once established, it can tolerate some drought but benefits from consistent moisture. Aim to keep the soil evenly moist without waterlogging.

3. Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Trim away any dead or damaged branches, and shape the plant to enhance its growth habit. Regular pruning encourages bushier growth and more prolific flowering throughout the season.

4. Fertilizing: In early spring, use a slow-release formula or an organic option like Espoma Rose Tone. Reapply in June, but avoid fertilizing after mid-summer.  Follow package rates and instructions.
